I really enjoyed this tale of four strangers who met on a plane from England to St。 Lucia and how those 9 hours together totally changed all of their lives for the better! Thank you Boldwood Books and NetGalley for the opportunity to read a digital ARC in return for an honest review。

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this adventurous book, it’s full of strangers forming friendships, people giving support and understanding。 It’s about finding yourself and what’s important to you and your mental health。 “Because sometimes we think we want something, and we’re so focused on making that happen that we lose sight of what’s best for us。”I loved the four main characters in this book, Bernadette; the mother figure in this book, Tadgh the wild one, Hayley; the young naive woman, and Dave; I thoroughly enjoyed reading this adventurous book, it’s full of strangers forming friendships, people giving support and understanding。 It’s about finding yourself and what’s important to you and your mental health。 “Because sometimes we think we want something, and we’re so focused on making that happen that we lose sight of what’s best for us。”I loved the four main characters in this book, Bernadette; the mother figure in this book, Tadgh the wild one, Hayley; the young naive woman, and Dave; the one person you want on your trivia table for music and movies questions。 “ There must be some kind of weird oxygen in this bubble because they were pouring out their very own heartbreaks to each other and yet there were these moments of levity that came out of nowhere。” But with these new friendships also comes the uncertainty of Tadgh’s fiancé Cheryl who somehow has slept with two other men on the plane; Tadgh’s brother and Dave。 😱A huge thank you to @bookandtonic and @sharilowbooks for having me on this readalong and @netgalley for providing the digital copy of One Last Day of Summer for reviewing purposes。 。。。more

I just loved this latest book by Shari Low。 Engaging, realistic, humorous at points, I was instantly invested in all the characters。 I love the way each character’s story developed。 I could not put the book down as I was eager to see how all of their lives panned out。 For me this was like catching up with a group of friends。 Easy, fun and kept me hooked and intrigued。

Four people board a plane for a tropical get away, each has packed a lot of "baggage" (Oh yes I just went there!), each with a different motive, each unknown to one another。 However fate sits them beside each other, and as you cam imagine they begin talking to one another and it seems like their paths were meant to cross。 I won't go into a whole lot, because this is a very character driven book, like literally (I have no idea if I used that word correctly, and frankly I don't care English Majors Four people board a plane for a tropical get away, each has packed a lot of "baggage" (Oh yes I just went there!), each with a different motive, each unknown to one another。 However fate sits them beside each other, and as you cam imagine they begin talking to one another and it seems like their paths were meant to cross。 I won't go into a whole lot, because this is a very character driven book, like literally (I have no idea if I used that word correctly, and frankly I don't care English Majors-hehe) 90% of the book is the 4 characters inner thoughts and conversations that take place on the plane from Ireland to the Island。By the end of the book I felt like I was Teague, Bernadette, Hayley and Dev's best friend。 There was definatly a hefty dose of cheese and eye roll moments, but it worked! I was cheering for each of these characters the whole trip! This book will make you smile and make you really care about what happens to the four。 So why not 5 stars? -There was some Irish language that was annoying (fek, da, mam)-Way to many pop cultural references -One to many slices of cheese But I read this super quick, I smiled the whole way through!I would like to thank Netgally and Boldwood Books for this advanced readers copy。 I was not paid for this honest review。 。。。more

This is a truly escapist read as you get to jet off to St Lucia with four very different characters who all are sitting near each other on the plane and find their lives becoming entwined。 Each one is at a crossroads in their lives and during the journey, strike up connections。 I'm not sure whose story I was most invested in as they were all intriguing but I think my sympathy overall was with Hayley who was facing up to a few truths about her arrogant and controlling husband。 There are some lig This is a truly escapist read as you get to jet off to St Lucia with four very different characters who all are sitting near each other on the plane and find their lives becoming entwined。 Each one is at a crossroads in their lives and during the journey, strike up connections。 I'm not sure whose story I was most invested in as they were all intriguing but I think my sympathy overall was with Hayley who was facing up to a few truths about her arrogant and controlling husband。 There are some light-hearted moments during the long flight to the sun, notably when you glimpse the cabin crew who must have seen it all before and took all the comings and goings in their stride。 Each of the four characters have their own backstory and alternating chapters are devoted to each one。 This is an ideal holiday read as you can pick it up and put it down due to this structure。 There are a few surprises to keep you on your toes and I can thoroughly recommend it this summer。In short: entertaining and enjoyable read Thanks to the author for a copy of the book 。。。more

A bit of me would like a sequel 😉。All in all, a brilliant read and I would highly recommend this for any rom-coms fans or really anyone who just wants a little break from normal life because that is exactly what you will get with this book。 I have already put a few more books by Shari Low on my TBR list and I can’t wait to get to them!Thank you to NetGalley, Shari Low and Boldwood books for my advanced reading copy。 Out now。 。。。more

I’m a huge fan of Shari Low’s writing so was eagerly awaiting reading this new release and devoured it in two sittings! My initial trepidation at the start of the novel, where all the characters and their family members were listed and I panicked that I’d never remember them all, was soon allayed as I realised that each chapter dealt with one of the four main characters in turn, each of whom end up sitting in the same row of a plane bound for St Lucia。Shari’s writing style is always easy to read, I’m a huge fan of Shari Low’s writing so was eagerly awaiting reading this new release and devoured it in two sittings! My initial trepidation at the start of the novel, where all the characters and their family members were listed and I panicked that I’d never remember them all, was soon allayed as I realised that each chapter dealt with one of the four main characters in turn, each of whom end up sitting in the same row of a plane bound for St Lucia。Shari’s writing style is always easy to read, peppered with contemporary and nostalgic references and also with a heavy sprinkling of humour。 In this offering, the character of Bernadette is someone everyone would love to have alongside them on a long journey!Given that most of the story takes place in time intervals for the duration of the plane journey, there is still plenty of drama and gasp out loud moments to be had as each of the characters deal with their own circumstances whilst also becoming inextricably linked as the flight progresses。This a gem of a summer read and another sure-fire hit for the author。 Definitely recommended! With thanks to the author, Rachel at Random Resources and Boldwood Books for the opportunity to participate in the tour。 。。。more

Favorite Quotes:‘Darling, remember, I talked about this。 We recommend staying away from alcohol when you’re trying to get pregnant。’ She wanted to point out that in the annals of history, there were probably billions of women around the world who had only got pregnant because of alcohol。 It wasn’t a friendly greeting。 Or a warm one。 If it was a perfume, it would be full-bodied disapproval with top notes of irritation and ire。。。。so I am absolutely slumming it in a five-star resort。 This heartbrea Favorite Quotes:‘Darling, remember, I talked about this。 We recommend staying away from alcohol when you’re trying to get pregnant。’ She wanted to point out that in the annals of history, there were probably billions of women around the world who had only got pregnant because of alcohol。 It wasn’t a friendly greeting。 Or a warm one。 If it was a perfume, it would be full-bodied disapproval with top notes of irritation and ire。。。。so I am absolutely slumming it in a five-star resort。 This heartbreak stuff is hard work。My Review:I am unabashedly enamored with Shari Low’s delightful storytelling and her latest offering is no exception as I stepped right into the pages and became one of the passengers。 One Last Day of Summer weaves a well-nuanced tale that intermingled the lives of four strangers on a plane that had no idea they had so much in common。 The engaging storylines were fresh, authentic, and rife with poignant feels, clever humor, and evocative observations and insights。 The cast of characters was varied yet so well fleshed out and knowable that I would recognize them on the street at first glance。 I admire her bewitching word craft as I easily tumble into her tales and while I’m often reluctant to crawl back out, I have found each one to be immensely satisfying to read。 。。。more

Shari Low never fails to give me all the feels with her novels。 I become complete smitten with her characters and their stories and I get so invested and merge with their world that I forget they aren’t real people。I adore multi-narration and really liked how different each of the main characters were。 I loved them immediately and gave out a little squeal when I realized they were all coming together (an early reveal)。 Each character has their own demons to work through and they’re all heading t Shari Low never fails to give me all the feels with her novels。 I become complete smitten with her characters and their stories and I get so invested and merge with their world that I forget they aren’t real people。I adore multi-narration and really liked how different each of the main characters were。 I loved them immediately and gave out a little squeal when I realized they were all coming together (an early reveal)。 Each character has their own demons to work through and they’re all heading to St Lucia for different reasons when they find themselves together on the plane。 Sometimes the kindness of strangers is worth so much more than we realise this and Shar Low shows this through her dialogue and interactions between the characters。 Each person is real and relatable (as always in Shari’s books) and as a reader I developed such a strong bond with them。 This is such a wonderful story that really lifts the spirits and brightens the day。 There are plenty of surprises and twists in there too and the whole concept just works so well。I cannot recommend this adorable book highly enough。 。。。more
